He had 344,000 references, compared with 489.000 by the writer and humourist Luis Fernando Verissimo, 522.000 by the weekly columnist Diogo Mainardi, 526.000 by the political analyst Reinaldo Azevedo and 542.000 by the TV showman Arnaldo Jabor. In a clear demonstration of his influence and wide audience, Olavo de Carvalho came ahead of several veteran Brazilian opinion-makers and TV personalities who work for the largest media in the country.
